Q&A

Hello everyone, We recently rescued a 3 month weim pup from a young couple in our area who didnt have the time or energy to keep up with our little guy! He is 4 months and a few days old now and weighs about 33 lbs. Since we didnt have a chance to view his parents, we were wondering if this weight was normal for a pup his age because the previous owners said he might reach 100lbs! Do you think this is possible? We think he is small, perhaps the runt. I've only had labs before him so I cant really compare, plus his feet arnt very big compared to his body... Any advice would be great! Thanks!

My little boy weighs in at 82 pounds, he is full muscle!!

No way that dog will reach 100 pounds if it is truly a Weimaraner. They max out at a healthy size with weight around 65 pounds(max weight), much like an average sized lab. This is not to say that they can't get overweight and weigh more but this would be unhealthy and not a true weight as standards suggest. You are looking at an average of 23-26 inches high and around 50-60 pounds full grown. They are classified as a medium breed. Congrats on your new addition and remember to be patient with this handful of a beautiful and loyal dog!
