Q&A

am currently put into a position that I can't get myself to come to grips with, My Buddy is a 9 year old mini dachshund who is the love of our life. He has over the past 2 years been having problems with his anal sack glands (had one removed in july 2015) and it has gotten progressively worse. It has now been diagnosed as rectal stricture. The doctor says there isn't anything they can do for him. There is a thing they can do with a balloon but she says it is temporary fix, buys him a few months and can cause other problems. Is there anyone out there in dachshund land that has gone through something like this. I don't want to have to put him down but also don't want to see him in pain and straining to go to the bathroom. Please RSVP as quickly as possible. Thank you.

I don't know if this will help or not, but it helped my Cavachon. He had diarhea AND constipation. The vet even x rayed his stomach(for free) to see if that was the problem. Finally, he suggested Pro biotics. That did it. The brand he sells and that we now use is: Vetri Science GI Balance Pro. It is a little pricey, but it works great AND my puppy LOVES it. It solved the problem!
