no its a completely different breed no they are different Definitely not. The Staffie is a very gentle, kid friendly, hyper, joyful, loyal companion. They do have the same look as a pit bull but have a better temperament and aren't over breed like a pit bull. The Staffordshire Bull Terrier is a more rare breed of dog because people want to keep them protected and from getting over breed like pit bulls and chihuahuas are. As you notice you rarely see them in the shelters because breeders aim to give them to good people who don't just want them to breed them to make money. A Staffie is VERY good with children. They are easy to train as long as you know how to train them. They are very athletic and require exercise. They are VERY specail pets. I am not trying to say anything bad about pit bulls because they are a misunderstood dog. I believe that the dogs behavior is effected on the love and training it gets. That is true for all dogs;pit bull, lab, beagle,Staffie,poodle. A. Pit bull is a mistreated over breed dog . Staffie a are often confused for pits. If you are looking for a good dog for your family and kids this is the dog for you. But they are expensive unless once in a while you find a pure bred in a shelter. Often when you get one from a shelter they say they a Staffies but they really aren't and they are pits or are Staffie mixes. The American Staff is a bit different from the regular Staffordshire bull terrier. The regular Staffordshire bull terrier is the better dog. Staffordshire Bull Terriers originate in England and are a poplular breed in places like England and Whales. Like a lab is a popular breed here a Staffie is a popular breed there.
