My Bearded collie puppie thinks she's being told off when we try to train her I use treats and everything but she just cowers away, she's 4 1/2 months old. Shes very bubbly when playing but is cowadly with people and dogs that are bigger than her, any suggestions?

Our Beardie has beautiful hair from its head to his hips, but his hips are shaggy and look brittle and messy. Is there something we can do to give him a fully flowing coat.

Clip her down. do it! Then brush the fur as it grows. This should make hair grow in beautiful:)

I have 3 year old bearded collie. I left her fur not getting brushed for a long time. She is a terrible sight. Super matted. Have you ever had this experience? Should I shave her as short as 1/2 inch?

Also, I booked time on my calendar to do my dog's hair. If you had a child, you would brush their hair every day right? THe best way to get in the habit, it to literally make it habit. 10 minutes a day saves a lot of money at the groomer. Makes for a happier dog too, but we have all been where you are! trust me.

Yes! Do it. She may be a little self conscience at first. Don't let this hold you back. You may hurt her feelings. But don't let this hold you back either. Just DO IT!

Her hair is all matted. Should I shave her or not?

I used to routinely have my dog clipped short in the late spring through early fall. Our hot humid midwest summers really bothered her when we would go out for walks or just to let her out to"do her duties". She always seemed to feel better with shorter hair in the summer. They are so forgiving that they get over the shock of not having all the hair. Good Luck

Yes. Do it as quickly as you can. Shave to about 1 inch long. Then, keep brushing as the fur grows in.
