I am doing a report on these dogs, what would their breed be called in French?

We live in a rural area, but there are other houses within earshot. I am trying to decide what type of dog to get. Do Black Mouth Curs bark a lot (so as to keep neighbors awake at night)?

My BMC barks when he wants something and whenever someone gets close to the house, oh and at Moose that was my fault because i got him looking for them at a young age.

I have a black mouth cur, and as much as I love her...she is a barker. I've always had dogs with great success at controlling their barking. But Curs require a lot of training. They get bored, and so they bark. At first, she wasn't a barker but as she grows, she wants to play more so when no one is home she barks out of boredom and when I am home, she will occasionally bark to get my attention, but is generally satisfied to not be left alone. I tried everything to stop her barking. A lemon scented bark collar worked for a minute, but she eventually got used to it and would come in smelling like a lemon because she would bark even though it was spraying her. Now she has a stimulation collar and it worked so well and so fast that it doesn't even need to be on anymore and it's only been a week of having it. They're smart dogs and fast learners once you find what works for them. Chances are, though, taking them out to play for an hour or so a day will do the trick. I've never had a sweeter dog. They're amazingly smart and loving. I'm not sure I'll ever have another kind.

We just got a black mouth cur a week ago and we have 4 dogs in the house behind us that are always barking and whinning. Our dog has barked about 2 times. She is very quite when she did bark. So I would say that a black mouth cur would be perfect for your housing.

When the puppy sees us he wags his tail but at the same time he runs away from us and when we try to pick him up he shakes vilently, why does he do that?

He may have trust issues from a former owner and not trust humans. Obviously, he wants to trust you since he’s excited to see you but he’s unsure how to act. I would probably start taking him on walks and playing with him outside. Maybe teach him fetch and give him treats? The idea is to make your time together positive. Eventually, he will stop being so shy.

When Black Mouth Cur are puppies are they really shy

My BMC was never shy around anyone even at 7 weeks he was letting our 5 yr old sheppard mix know who was the boss.
I would recomend constant socializing if you want them to be ok around other people and dogs.

We got our Black Mouth Cur pup at 8 weeks old, and started socializing her within the first week. She's now almost 5 months old and loves everyone! Wether it's people we meet when we are out on our walks, to new people and dogs at the dog park -she just wants to be friends. Socialization starting at an early age is a must!

From all I have read Black Mouth Curs are very cautious around new people. Eventually they will be "normal" around the family, but they will always be shy with strangers.
