Character


This breed is affectionate, loving and patient. They do well with children and enjoy being the center of attention. They are protective of home and family yet socialize well with other dogs. Some may be mischievous and chase cats. They are easily trained and very food motivated.

General Health


The Beagleman has a good life expectancy. Any health issues from the parent breeds should be noted; epilepsy, dysplasia, hypothyroidism and prostatic disease.

History


Since this is a relatively new hybrid history would need to be obtained from the Beagle and Doberman Pinscher. The Doberman originated in Germany. It was developed as a guard dog with a reliable nature. The Beagle originally was used for hunting due to his outstanding sniffing abilities.

Maintenance


This is a low maintenance hybrid. Their short coat will only need bathing every few months. Regular brushing will keep the coat shiny. If the ears are floppy, keep the ear canal clean.

Ideal Environment


This dog will be best suited in a home with a nice sized yard for running. Remember it will be a vocal dog. His responsibility is to alert you of intruders.
