(Chinese Crested and Chihuahua mix) The Chi-Chi is best suited for a household that will have a person with them as they don\'t do well alone. He is small in stature but big on personality. Usually a good watchdog that will alert you to intruders, he is best in a home environment due to possible barking issues. His coat may be like that of the Chihuahua or hairless like the Chinese Crested parent.
The Chi-Chi is high energy and will require mental stimulation as well as exercise. He likes to climb and leap, so care should be taken so he doesn\'t injure himself. He is devoted and loves to cuddle and play.
The coat of this canine will depend on which parent genes were inherited. The longer coat of the Chihuahua will require regular brushing to prevent shedding and matting. If the coat is short or hairless, wiping him with a soft damp cloth will be helpful. Small dogs like this hybrid require special attention to dental hygiene.
Regular play and walks is important for the Chi-Chi. A home where someone can stay with him as he likes to be near his family. Early socialization will be helpful especially if he takes on the character of the Chihuahua. If you live in a cold climate, a coat will be needed to keep him warm.

In the front is “Pelucaâ€, a Chinese Crested- Chihuahua (2 years old). The other two dogs behind are Xolos (Mexican hairless), the one in the left, “(3 years old) is pure breed and the one in the right is a Xolo-Chihuahua (Apple head) mix (2 years old).
