The body of the Chion is long with apple shaped hind quarters. The front legs are short with longer Z shaped rear legs. The hair is long, thin and curled with fringe at the end. The ears are butterfly-like and stand upright. The Chion is normally a solid color but may have spots. The spots will be the same color as the mask.
The Chion is a loving breed that desires its owner’s attention. The breed is intelligent and is well suited for cats and other dogs. It is always very loyal and affectionate.

Ivy is 3/4 chihuahua and 1/4 papillon. We got her at the humane society. We thought she was a chion, but lots of people disagreed. We did DNA testing (Wisdom Panel) and testing confirmed she is a chion. She is a great dog. she is very fun loving and affectionate. She does bite whenever she is unhappy about things. Never bother her when she is sleeping, and be careful when examining her like a vet. She hates examinations.

When I named my baby I never heard of a Papillion before so I thought since he was half and half I would name him Pappichi. I found that was not as creative as I thought because there are several Pappy's on the internet!! Anyway, he survived Parvo (3 weeks after his shots) and he has been a blessing to me. He is by far the most lovable dog I have ever had. He is extremely smart, as well as stubborn, and really fussy about his food. I just lost a 13 year old cat and dog two weeks apart and he has been there to comfort me. He sleeps in my arms every night. I think he is beautiful and in a few months I am going to mate him with his cousin who had the same Papillion father and a different chihuahua mother. Hopefully we can get another Pappichi!!

My charlie is the smartist dog ever, curious, and a quick study. He likes to play with his people and other animal friends. He has wonderful temperament, except if he is tired and wants to sleep, then don't bother him, he gets snappy, but who doesn't? I live in an appartment he is the perfect pet. He has learned not to bark at every noise and is use to my schedule after only 2 wks. I had some issues with recreational barking, but that has slowly subsided as well. I love him to pieces..

Webber is a Papillion/Chihuahua mix. He is extremely intelligent and self sufficient. He was easy to train and was housebroken in about 3 months. He is currently 4 1/2 lbs and probably won't get much bigger than 7 lbs.
