My wife and I are fostering a very affectionate and well behaved male hound/shepard mix. He is quite the gentleman and has lots of personality. We call him Boomer. We believe he is probably around 4 years old. He behaves very well in the home. He does not try to get on the furniture. He is very well mannered and behaves better than the two dogs we've had for 7 years! He knows the basic commands (no, sit, shake, stay). HE LOVES PEOPLE, and always wants to be around somebody. He especially loves children. He loves to be doted on. He is great with other dogs, we have two females and they have a great time together. He would be great with another dog. He loves to be outside and the bigger the yard the better! However, he will need a fence for city or suburban life. We're not sure how he is around cats, he's definitely curious, but a slow introduction would be the way to go. We walk him in the city and he's always on his best behavior, most passerby's on just a quick introduction fall in love with him. He really is a great dog. He was a picked up as a stray from Jefferson County Animal Control back in March and through a partnership with Jefferson College was taken into the veterinary technology program. As a student in the program, that's where my wife came in. The animals are treated, cared for and studied and then After every rotation, they help find the pets new homes. My wife was his primary care provider so we took him in and have been fostering him since. Boomer has been fully checked out, has all of his vaccinations, been neutered and has had a dental polishing. He is micro chipped and up to date on all shots. He is free to a good home.
