(Affenpinscher and Chihuahua mix) The origination date of this toy designer breed is not known. It was created in the United States. The coat can either be short or long, but may be somewhat hypoallergenic due to the Chihuahua genetic. This playful pup will usually be found in colors of dark grey, brown and black. The Affenhuahua, sometimes referred to as Affen Chi, is a short little dog with a rounded head. The muzzle is on the short side, but not puggish.

The Affenhuahua is a spunky little dog with lots of energy. Play time is essential. Due to their high level of curiosity and potential to be stubborn, early training is important. They can tend toward fearfulness or be nippy with children and strangers depending on their personality.

This toy hybrid is a cross between a Affenpinscher and Chihuahua. It was introduced in the United States sometime in the 21st century. The Affenpinscher was a working dog, bred for hunting rodunts, while the Chihuahua was bred for companionship in Mexico. It was thought to be a symbol of prosperity.

Maintenance


The Affenhuahua is a low shed dog. If it has the characteristics tending more towards the Affenpinscher, grooming may be required to reduce matting. Keeping the ears clean may be required a bit more if the ears are bent down.
