I have a Dorkie that is a hear and a half in age. Is 7 pounds. Sweet and loving but can not get on a schedule to do his business outside. He will go out and pee then come in and poop on the carpet. When he needs to go out he sits near the door but I don't always see him - he is like a ninja that is next to me all the time. I don't see him leave and poop on the carpet. I walk him constantly to the same area and tell him to pee or poop and I wait. Sometimes he will oblige me and do his business. Most times he will come in and poop. Thanks.

Try staying outside with him longer and get some good cleaner to clean where he does go like Natures Wonder is awesome and totally gets rid of the smell so they dont go into the same spot again... Hope this helps

Hi. My Dorkie is 3 years old and you are describing him to a "T". Same problem. What truly worked, but you have to pay attention to his behavior when you know he is searching for a spot to go poop or pee, is to catch him, say no, yell, etc and immediately take him outside. Don't allow him to do his business inside. What's normal is when it's raining outside. I wouldn't want to go outside either and get wet. Hope this helps and good luck.

Remember this breed likes to be comfortable and prefers being with you! Even when easing nature.if you go out there with them they will finish there business in little time. In Rain well that can reduce the comfortability for both you and them but they will usually go of you do, take an umbrella for you. they will sense your attitude about the rain as well. If you have a covered area that is an option.

I had some problems with getting my dorkie to go to the bathroom outside. The leash was a big adjustment she was more apt to go off leash. It took time but I ended up walking her in the yard with a leash on and stayed closer to her. I also got the bells to put on the door and jingled them every time before we went out and I took her paw to jingle them and that sort of worked, but still had some accidents. I went out with her more frequently than not and stood by her and she was more likely to poop. It wasn’t until 2-3 months in that she was actually going to the bathroom 1 or 2 on the leash and once that stuck it’s never been better.
