(Chinese Crested and Japanese Chin mix) The Chin Crested is a very small dog. The coat largely depends on the parent breed that dominates. His body can be hairless, or he can have hair, but not on the underbody. He tends to have an underbite. This hybrid is a very cute and unusual looking pet.

History

Both parent breeds are companion canines. The Japanese Chin is believed to have originated in the Imperial Court of China. Then later gifted to Japan where it was seen as a entity rather than a dog. The Chinese Crested didn\'t originate in China, but perhaps Africa or derived from the Mexican Hairless.

Maintenance

Groom regularly to keep the coat free of tangles. If hairless, wipe with a soft damp cloth. Pay special attention to dental hygiene for this little one.

Ideal Environment

Due to the low energy level, the Chin Crested makes an excellent apartment dweller. But he will most definitely enjoy a walk or a trip to the park. This will help satisfy his need for attention.

Dog Training!

If you're having problems training your dog or getting control, you should read our review of DogProblems.com. Adam will do whatever it takes to help you whip your dog into shape. I've used them to help with my Great Dane as well as help friends train their dogs. It's the first place I go to help answer users Questions. Many training issues are too extensive to answer in this forum, which is why I refer a lot of the load to his site. Update: I've been using and recommending DogProblems for three years now. I, as well as my users, value the techniques we've learned. I get weekly emails from users who have become better owners from the information they received.
