at times they do or at least mine does when its people she doesn't know she barks at them but after they get closer and want to pet her then shes playful Mine does only if one of the other animals or non-alphas(kids and new-comers) in the house tries to invade her personal space when she's with a favorite toy or snuggling with one of the alphas(me, dad, big brother). She has been this way since only 3 months old and I have never owned another dog breed that has done this. All of my other dogs would never dare. I believe that the Chi Pin is simply VERY protective and teritorial. Otherwise, in any other situation, she is the biggest love EVER! I have a son and daughter with special needs who can be not so gentle with a dog. She has never even snapped at either. I never liked a chihuahua type dog, but I will probably never own anything else. The most lovable dog I've ever owned and I'm 55 years old! I went to a pet parade/ anamal adoption and did not know I would adopt a dog. I fell in love and think it was a chipin or minpin breed but one or the other. Sure it is a chipin. She jumped right on my lap and spent one hour whith her and signed the papers right away. I wanted a bichon freese however I heard they are harder to train and these dogs are much easier and better with teenager family kids. Thanks for the info.:) I went to a pet parade/ anamal adoption and did not know I would adopt a dog. I fell in love and think it was a chipin or minpin breed but one or the other.
