(Pomeranian and Cocker Spaniel mix) The Cockeranian more than likely will have a long curly or wavy double coat unless the dominant parent breed is the Pomeranian, then the coat will tend toward being fluffy. Whatever the coat he will be devoted to his family pack.

A word of warning; the Cockeranian is so devoted to his family he may suffer separation anxiety. So he is not a good pet to be left alone often or for long periods of time. These extremely attractive dogs are very endearing.

History for this hybrid can be found by looking to the parent breeds history. The Cocker Spaniel was enhanced in America after arriving from England. He was first known as a hunting dog and extremely good at flushing out Woodcock. The Pomeranian hales from Pomerania, Germany. It is believed he was created from a Spitz parent breed.

Regular brushing especially if the coat is like the parent Cocker Spaniel.

Ideal Environment

A family with older children will be best for the Cockeranian. A fenced yard will help him get his needed exercise. Since these hybrids can be prone to barking an apartment isn\'t the best match for him.

Dog Training!

If you're having problems training your dog or getting control, you should read our review of Adam will do whatever it takes to help you whip your dog into shape. I've used them to help with my Great Dane as well as help friends train their dogs. It's the first place I go to help answer users Questions. Many training issues are too extensive to answer in this forum, which is why I refer a lot of the load to his site. Update: I've been using and recommending DogProblems for three years now. I, as well as my users, value the techniques we've learned. I get weekly emails from users who have become better owners from the information they received.
