This small sized hybrid is a creation of breeding the Coton de Tulear with the Maltese. The Cotonese has a thick coat that serves him well in colder climates. You will usually see them in a cream or white with a long to very long coat depending on the parent dominance. To keep the coat at its optimum you should consider regular trips to the groomer.
add infoThe Cotonese is a sweet natured small hybrid that will be totally content to nap at your feet. He adapts well to families and other pets. He is quiet except for the occasional excited sounds he may make. Being with you is his main priority, so he won\'t be happy if he is left alone.
add infoThe Coton De Tulear hales from Madagascar. They were said to have been used as ratters on shipping vessels. The Maltese is from Malta. It was believed that these little companion dogs had healing powers. Both of these parent breeds are know for their good nature and desire to be by their owners side.
add infoThe Cotonese is hypoallergenic and you won\'t have the problem of lots of shedding of hair. But they will require quite a bit of maintenance. Regular brushing and detangling with a comb is needed. Also due to the light color of the fur, you may need to bathe him frequently. Professional grooming is helpful. Keep the little ears clean and dry.
add infoThis hybrid will do fine in an apartment setting or a family home with a fenced yard. Short walks and trips to the park to play a game of fetch will keep him active and happy. Keep in mind, due to his thick coat, he can overheat easily.
