User added info

This small sized hybrid is a creation of breeding the Coton de Tulear with the Maltese. The Cotonese has a thick coat that serves him well in colder climates. You will usually see them in a cream or white with a long to very long coat depending on the parent dominance. To keep the coat at its optimum you should consider regular trips to the groomer.

Maintenance

The Cotonese is hypoallergenic and you won\'t have the problem of lots of shedding of hair. But they will require quite a bit of maintenance. Regular brushing and detangling with a comb is needed. Also due to the light color of the fur, you may need to bathe him frequently. Professional grooming is helpful. Keep the little ears clean and dry.

Ideal Environment

This hybrid will do fine in an apartment setting or a family home with a fenced yard. Short walks and trips to the park to play a game of fetch will keep him active and happy. Keep in mind, due to his thick coat, he can overheat easily.

Dog Training!

If you're having problems training your dog or getting control, you should read our review of DogProblems.com. Adam will do whatever it takes to help you whip your dog into shape. I've used them to help with my Great Dane as well as help friends train their dogs. It's the first place I go to help answer users Questions. Many training issues are too extensive to answer in this forum, which is why I refer a lot of the load to his site. Update: I've been using and recommending DogProblems for three years now. I, as well as my users, value the techniques we've learned. I get weekly emails from users who have become better owners from the information they received.
