The Eskland is not a purebred dog. Esklands are a mix of an American Eskimo dog and a Sheltie. They are medium sized, and have a medium fur length. They are usually brown and white, or black and white.
This breed is very tidy and easy to groom. Most owners bathe once a month and towel try. Some choose to blow dry in the winter. An Eskland needs be to brushed often or their hair will mat.
The Eskland is a very active dog. They need plenty of room to run. If a yard isn’t available, it’s advised to embark on several leash walks a day. They are normally good with children if properly socialized.
If you're having problems training your dog or getting control, you should read our review of DogProblems.com. Adam will do whatever it takes to help you whip your dog into shape. I've used them to help with my Great Dane as well as help friends train their dogs. It's the first place I go to help answer users Questions. Many training issues are too extensive to answer in this forum, which is why I refer a lot of the load to his site.
Update: I've been using and recommending DogProblems for three years now. I, as well as my users, value the techniques we've learned. I get weekly emails from users who have become better owners from the information they received.
Ava was identified as an Eskland by the Humane Society's assessment team. She's a lovely combination of the shy, loyal, family-focused (read: herd) mentality of the Shetland Sheepdog, and the curious, gregarious, playful American Eskimo dog. She's a bit wary of small children, so I recommend this breed for small families with children over 7.

Name:
Tehya
Color:
Black/White
Description:
This is Tehya - which means "precious" in a Native American tongue. She's just over 3 years old and is such a sweetheart! She is very affectionate (loves to give kisses!) and gets along VERY well with her older brother (a German Shorthaired Pointer), her older sister (a gray/white domestic shorthaired cat) and her younger brother (a marbled tabby domestic shorthaired cat). She is very quick to learn new things but definitely gets vocal during particularly intense games of fetch. She loves to go for walks and car rides; chase the squirrels in the back yard and lazer pointers.

Name:
Lucy
Color:
white and cream
Description:
Lucy is 4 years old, and just a delight. She's well behaved, crate trained, and is very loyal. She is about 17 pounds, and is very protective of small children and her owners. Loves to be pet, and is not agressive in any way with other dogs. She barks when someone comes to the door, but generally a quiet dog. She's very sweet, and loves to sit at your feet, and loves to be pet, and brushed. I highly recommend this dog!

Age :
12 years
Name:
Kenzie
Color:
Tri color (Black/White/Tan)
Description:
Kenzie is a 12 year old Eskland (Eskimo/Sheltie mix). I bought her for $50 from a pet store back when designer breeds were still labeled "mutts". =) Her coloring is pure Sheltie, and the Eskimo shows in her shorter muzzle, fox-like ears and curly tail.
Her personality fits both breeds. She is owner-loyal, loving, sweet, humble, intelligent, and an "old soul". She is shy around children and strangers. She loves to "herd" and adores cold weather, especially snow! Health problems have been non-existent. Grooming is a necessity as she literally sheds enough fur to make 3 more dogs. She stole my heart from the moment I saw her.
Kenzie may not be indicative of all Eskland personalities, but from my experience, I would recommend this breed for people with older children or quiet homes.
