La-Chons are very playful, smart, and learn tricks easily. They are loving with family members but bark vigorously at strangers. They enjoy their space and most dispositions are described as affectionate but not needy. They gets along well with other dogs and cats but do like to get into garbage, when available.
The La-Chon is friendly, affectionate, gentle and playful. It loves people, especially children. Some are known to be headstrong due to its Lhasa Apso heritage and may not bond well with other dogs. The La-Chon is considered a hypoallergenic, low to no shedding breed making upkeep easy. This breed is very active indoors or out and will require sufficient exercise. A stubborn La-Chons can be difficult to housebreak. A firm, consistent owner will be required for dogs that have trouble becoming housebroken. Crate training is recommend.
Does not shed but requires regular grooming and clipping. The La-Chon tends to get mats in its fur, so it is required to brush their hair at least every other day.

Blooregard loves to cuddle but is perfectly fine curled up in his doggie bed. When we first got him he was scared of everything but with our family's love, affection, and training he has become a very brave boy! We've had issues with potty training but as long as we let him out on his schedule, which is very regular he is fine. It took some adjusting to get use to a dog that doesn't scratch when he needs to go potty (always had big breeds)
