The Peka-A-West is a loving breed with a wonderful personality.

The combination of the Pekingese and the West Highland White Terrier has created this active, well-tempered, smart, and affectionate dog. The Peka-A-West is very obedient and responds well when spoken to and loves to please the owners. They have a life expectancy of 12-15 years.

The combination of the Pekingese and the Westie, the Peka-A-West is an alert, calm, active, relaxed, intelligent, and affectionate dog. It loves the company of the family members and develops strong bonds. When compared to other Pekingese cross breed mixes, the Peka-A-West is much more active maybe because of its Terrier parentage. An intelligent and affectionate dog, the Peka-A-West is easy to train. They are, however wary of strangers and other animals hence it is advised to socialize them early. To sum it up, they retain many positive qualities from its parental breeds and is a good choice for families looking for an affectionate pet.

The Peka-A-West’s coat sheds moderately and needs occasional brushing such as to remove the dead hair. Some ambitious owners trim some long pieces of the coat around the ears, feet, and eyes. Ideal Environment

The energy levels of these pups fall somewhere in between to that of its parents. They require a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise and activity daily. The best way to take them for their exercise is by taking them on walks, trip to the dog park and also by playing games of fetch with them. Given their size and activity requirements, they can adapt to apartment style living as well, as long as they get their desired love and affection from the family members.
