The Pomapoo is a crossbreed dog between the Pomeranian and the Poodle. This type of dog is sometimes referred to as a hybrid or a designer breed. Designer breed dogs have become popular in the last few years, although they are not recognized by purebred registries because they are a mixed breed. While the Pomapoo cannot be registered with a purebred registry, there are now hybrid registries. As is the case with any mixed breed dog, the Pomapoo may take characteristics from both breeds. As a result, the look of the Pomapoo may vary, particularly in terms of the coat because the coats of the Poodle and the Pomeranian are different. Pomapoo dogs may also come in a variety of different colors.

This dog can be almost any solid color s well as almost any color combination. The coat of this dog may be curly and similar to that of the Poodle. It may also be somewhat straight like that of the Pomeranian. There are also some Pomapoo dogs that have a coat that is a mixture of both breeds. The coat of this breed is usually medium to long in terms of length. The size of this breed can also vary depending on whether it is descended from a standard poodle or a miniature poodle. Usually, the toy poodle is used to breed this dog and as a result it is usually small in size. The tail of the Pomapoo is usually left long. The ears may be floppy like a Poodle or short like a Pomeranian.

Also known as a Pooranian or a Pom-A-Poo.

General Health

The Pomapoo may suffer from health problems that are associated with both the Poodle and the Pomeranian. These health issues include patellar luxation, tracheal collapse, epilepsy and cataracts. Like the Poodle, the Pomapoo may also have problems with dried tears around the eyes. Owners should investigate the parentage to determine the extent of these problems and take their Pomapoo in to the vet for regular checkups. The average lifespan of the Pomapoo with good care is between 12 and 18 years.

Many training issues are too extensive to answer in this forum, which is why I refer a lot of the load to his site. Update: I've been using and recommending DogProblems for three years now.
