It is advised to socialize them early such that they can get along well with kids and other pets. They do not like to be left alone for long intervals of time and start barking. Character

The Poo-Shi is a loving, loyal, confident, and friendly dog which likes to be around the family and hates being left alone. If socialized early they are very good with children and even play a lot with them given their energy levels. Training in early puppy days is advised so as to deal with their stubborn and possessive attitude. A very intelligent dog just like the parents and has the ability to learn things quickly. As much as they love their family, they are very wary of strangers and bark to alert the family upon the presence of a stranger. One must not let them get bored and must ensure that these active dogs get plenty of exercise otherwise, they can become destructive.

Maintenance

If the pet has the coat like that of Shiba Inu, then there is more regular brushing which is advised, however, if the dog is more like that of the Poodle it would need more grooming and also the services of a professional. A Poo-Shi may have the qualities of being hypoallergenic, making them an excellent company for people suffering from allergies. Frequent baths are not recommended however, frequent checks of the ear are recommended to prevent ear infections and brushing their teeth twice a week such as to keep them in good dental health.

Dog Training!

If you're having problems training your dog or getting control, you should read our review of DogProblems.com. Adam will do whatever it takes to help you whip your dog into shape. I've used them to help with my Great Dane as well as help friends train their dogs. It's the first place I go to help answer users Questions. Many training issues are too extensive to answer in this forum, which is why I refer a lot of the load to his site. Update: I've been using and recommending DogProblems for three years now. I, as well as my users, value the techniques we've learned. I get weekly emails from users who have become better owners from the information they received.
