A longer legged dog than a pug, they do have the swagger walk however. Mine has totally bold body but tufts on his head and feet and tip of the tail! Almost rhino like to look at. A inquisitive head tilt and charming little face which is not fully swished up.
The Pugese is a cross between two of the most loved dogs in China, the Pug and the Chinese Crested dog. This is a small breed, and hence the size of the house really does not matter. Prone to separation anxiety, they like to stay with their owners. They have a life expectancy of 12-15 years.
add infoWow I've had all manner of pups over the years but this little man has energy and then some. He would definitely rule an inexperienced owner and it very much showing potential for separation anxiety which is being addressed by attention on my terms , he screams to be picked up and can go on for some time. Affectionate in the extreme and was visibly delighted when children visited he absolutely loved them. I can see a wonderful little dog developing here. Quick to learn , 8 weeks and no spoiled puppy pads other than little wee at night, will go outside if he has the door open and he will no doubt be clean very quickly at all times. Get one if you have the time and dedication, don't if you are not around during the day for hours on end they wouldn't cope.

add infoThe grooming for this breed totally depends upon which type of coat has the dog inherited. The Pug type short coat is very easy to maintain and does not require frequent baths and requires once or twice in a week brushing sessions to remove the sheds. On the other hand, if it inherits the coat of the Chinese Crested dog, then it would have to be bathed more frequently than other dogs. Combing is advised at least a few times a week, such as to prevent tangles. A mild dog shampoo after the vets recommendation should be used. Their nails should be clipped at least once a month and their teeth should be brushed twice a week such as to avoid build up of plaque and ensure that they have good dental health.
add infoBeing high spirited and energetic this breed does not necessarily need a great deal of exercise, a mere 30 minutes of rigorous activity is enough for them to be happy and healthy. It is advised to split their activities into smaller sessions rather than having one long session. Being a brachycephalic dog, it is recommended to take into account the weather conditions while taking them out as they suffer from heat exhaustion. In fact, if they have bare skin, then proper protection is advised to the exposed skin against ultraviolet rays of the sun.
