Character

This is a clever hybrid whose temperament depends on the parent breed. They are protective and loyal towards the family and reserved in affection if inherited traits from Shiba Inu or extremely jovial if they take after the Boston Terrier. The dog is friendly towards kids and better suits to older kids. It is important to socialize them early so they can easily become a friend of strangers and other pets. With patience and consistency, owners can overcome the stubborn nature of the dog during training. The more it takes after the Boston Terrier, the easier will be to train this dog.

History

This designer dog breed does not have a well-documented history. The parents have differences in dispositions and physical appearances. These differences can predict how the Shibos will be in the future. Shiba Inu is an ancient Japanese breed that draws its name from brushwood’s hunting grounds or red foliage in autumn. The Boston terrier ranks high for a decade and one of the ten dogs recognized by the American kennel club.

Maintenance

This dog requires easy maintenance; however, this is not a hypoallergenic dog. Shibos sheds moderate and if takes after Shiba Inu than sheds more. Otherwise, the dog has a soft, smooth coat flat against the body that does not hold dirt. To keep the coat perfect, it is important to brush them weekly using bristles brush or pet wipes. These dogs have sensitive skin so frequent baths may harm the natural oils and irritate the skin. Bathing is required when necessary, although the best way to remove debris and dirt is brushing. This dog may be allergic to certain foods, so trying giving him different food is necessary.

Ideal Environment

The Shibios requires moderate exercise, and as this dog is small in size, some of the activities can be done within the home. The dog loves to roam around the fenced backyard of the home. This hybrid likely cuddles up on the couch, and the foot of the bed is perfect for naps. This is an obedient dog until not agitated by stimulation. As this is an adaptable and small dog, Shibos fits for apartment living with the requirement of mental and daily exercise. This dog has a tolerance for cold weather but should not be left outside alone under any conditions.

Dog Training!

If you're having problems training your dog or getting control, you should read our review of DogProblems.com. Adam will do whatever it takes to help you whip your dog into shape. I've used them to help with my Great Dane as well as help friends train their dogs. It's the first place I go to help answer users Questions. Many training issues are too extensive to answer in this forum, which is why I refer a lot of the load to his site. Update: I've been using and recommending DogProblems for three years now. I, as well as my users, value the techniques we've learned. I get weekly emails from users who have become better owners from the information they received.
