Is there a such thing as a "German Boxer" which is considerably larger than the traditional "American Boxer" and are they registered AKC or through another breed registry?

I have read about it on the internet that there are two types...and I actually have two boxers...they are both males...one has a larger head, chest and is much more muscular than the other...by what I have read he is definitely a German Boxer and my other one looks just the same, only a smaller framed version, so I am betting he is an American Boxer...they look like father and son, only their frame size is totally the opposite...by the way they are not related at all...
