User added info

Shocker is a crossbreed between Shiba Inu and American Cocker Spaniel. These cute dogs have a medium build up and require high activity time to wear out the excess energy. They are adorable and are quick learners too. Their fur is quite thick and long. This breed is apartment friendly and adjusts well with the urban lifestyle of its owners, but they love to run in yards. These dogs are expected to live up to 12-15 years if proper checkups and diet are followed.

Character

The Shocker has a unique disposition. They are independent and sometimes stubborn. They love to be near their owners but are capable of their own thought. They are playful and sometimes protective. Many are known to be sneaky and good at escaping fenced yards or kennels.

The Shocker is an active, loving, independent, and playful dog. They love to play the fetching game and enjoy spending time with their owners. However, due to their stubborn nature, it is necessary to train them since their early days otherwise they might become over possessive. Unlike other dogs, Shockers carry themselves quite well even in the isolated environment. This breed inherits most of its characteristics from its parents. For instance, it inherits affection and cuteness from Cocker Spaniel wherein, on the other hand, it inherits splendid beauty and independent traits from Shiba Inu. These dogs get along really well with kids and family members. However, they don’t mix up nicely with other animals.

Maintenance

It is recommended to brush your dog’s coat daily because Shockers have a really thick and long coat which requires proper grooming to avoid any tangles or matting. Nails require clipping and you can also give your dog a grooming session every once or twice a month. They are prone to skin allergies and dryness, and it is best advised not to give them frequent baths. However, you should regularly check for ear infections or allergies to keep them healthy.

Ideal Environment

The Shockers are highly energetic and require daily exercises to keep themselves fit physically and mentally. You can take them for a walk in the park or yard where they can utilize their high energy levels. Otherwise, they fall prey to boredom and restlessness. Although they admire staying at places with yards, Shockers are suited for apartment living.

Dog Training!

If you're having problems training your dog or getting control, you should read our review of DogProblems.com. Adam will do whatever it takes to help you whip your dog into shape. I've used them to help with my Great Dane as well as help friends train their dogs. It's the first place I go to help answer users Questions. Many training issues are too extensive to answer in this forum, which is why I refer a lot of the load to his site. Update: I've been using and recommending DogProblems for three years now. I, as well as my users, value the techniques we've learned. I get weekly emails from users who have become better owners from the information they received.
