History

The Silky Terrier developed in the 1890s in Australia by crossbreeding Australian Terrier and Yorkshire Terrier. It was initially bred to kill vermins but later adopted as the recognized breed. During World War, some American soldiers brought these hunting dogs to America as they liked the companion nature of them, and soon in 1959, it gained entry in the American Kennel Club.

Silky Terriers have straight, long, and silky hair which requires brushing 2-3 times a week to avoid hair tangles. You can give him monthly bathe, and it will keep his look clean. You need to check and clean their ears every day with a damp cloth to prevent any redness or skin infection. If you hear a clicking sound on the floor, then it’s probably time to trim nails. Brush its teeth daily to curb gum diseases and plaque buildup, though 2-3 times a week is also acceptable. Occasional grooming helps to make your pet at its best.

Dog Training!

If you're having problems training your dog or getting control, you should read our review of DogProblems.com. Adam will do whatever it takes to help you whip your dog into shape. I've used them to help with my Great Dane as well as help friends train their dogs. It's the first place I go to help answer users Questions. Many training issues are too extensive to answer in this forum, which is why I refer a lot of the load to his site. Update: I've been using and recommending DogProblems for three years now. I, as well as my users, value the techniques we've learned. I get weekly emails from users who have become better owners from the information they received.
