This breed is often gold and white and sometimes has black spots. The hair is long and shaggy. The ears droop like that of a Spaniel. The face is similar to a Golden Retriever and they can grow large.
The Spangold Retriever is sweet and affectionate. It is intelligent and easily trainable. It needs frequent exercise. Under exercised Spangold Retrievers may become anxious or depressed.

Scamper is an exceptional friendly and happy go lucky pup. He can be a bit stubborn (the springer side) and head strung but is the most affectionate and loyal dog! Eager to please, learn and serve he has proven to be an excellent family dog! Very soft mouthed and good with small animals within the pack (will chase a wild squirrel but not touch the pet rabbit). Excellent tracker and has learned to play hide and seek with the children.
