The Yorkie Russell is very lively and full of energy like the Jack Rusell. It may also love to chase small animals as it has the hunting instinct of both the Yorkie and the Jack Russell. They are great lap dogs because they are small and love cuddles. They are very intelligent and can be trained very quickly. The Yorkie Russell may be small but they love long walks and can become destructive in the home, by chewing things if they get bored. They are territorial and may be protective in the home.

Maintenance

The Yorkie Russell usually has a long coat which is silky like the Yorkshire Terrier. It will need bathing approximately once every month in a mild dog shampoo to prevent dry skin. They will need brushing daily to prevent matting. Nails should be clipped every 2-3 months and their teeth cleaned regularly as they are prone to tooth decay like the Yorkshire Terrier. They are hardy little dogs who love to run but may be prone to joint problems.

Dog Training!

If you're having problems training your dog or getting control, you should read our review of DogProblems.com. Adam will do whatever it takes to help you whip your dog into shape. I've used them to help with my Great Dane as well as help friends train their dogs. It's the first place I go to help answer users Questions. Many training issues are too extensive to answer in this forum, which is why I refer a lot of the load to his site. Update: I've been using and recommending DogProblems for three years now. I, as well as my users, value the techniques we've learned. I get weekly emails from users who have become better owners from the information they received.
