I am 14 and I live in a village surrounded by hills and fields (not all accessable for dogs), I have a medium sized house with a medium sized garden, I live with my mum and brother. I am at school for 6 hours a day and no one else is at home between 8:00am and 3:00pm. I have always wanted a dog and I feel that now I am responsible to take it on. I found the Chesapeake Bay Retriver and have fallen in love with the breed completely, no other dogs seem to compare, but the only thing that concerns me is leaving the dog alone and whether it needs things that I can't provide it.. Do you think that it's the right breed for me? By the way I have already sorted out my routine for if I get a dog, and I am looking forward to the struggle and satisfaction of training my very own dog (and would love for it to be a Chesapeake). I can provide an hour or more of excersise daily.

well..... as long as u give the dog plenty of exercise and be very social/loyal to it u may have met ur match.
