I have a 10 or 11 month old male and I regularly have about 15 people over at my house throughout the week... he is very social towards them but whenever anyone new comes over he is very timid and often aggresive.... any advice on how to correct this?

My mastiff is the same way. It's natural for them to be friendly but if someone comes up they will try to guard their territory. I wouldn't be alarmed. They won't bite usually. They are great guard dogs for owners and are very protective.

I have a 4 yr old mastiff hes like that with everyone. we tell people to let him approach you. hell let them know when its ok. we try to have him meet new people outside before they come in.we always use a firm tone with him when new people come he tends to react more if he knows there scared. hes the best with children even if he doesnt know them
