doxie's can be hard to house train but if you get puppy training mats then train them to the garden .doxie's are good with older children.

I have a 1 1/2 year old daschound that gets along great with my 2 kids, 6 & 4. He is also around my newborn nephew, 2 year old niece and 5 year old nephew. I think it just depends on how your kids are with the puppy.

I have a nine month old baby girl. She has been housetrrained for a few months now with only the occasional accidents. I also have four kids all ten and under... She is thier baby as much as she is mine!!! Doxies are good with kids *my youngest was three when we got her*. They are easy enough to train, just remember to be consistent!

Doxis can be very hard to house train, but it is very possible. I have found that puppy pads are very helpful in training as well as after training if they are going to be left alone for a couple of hours. They are great dogs for children! Just be sure that your kids are aware of how sensitive their backs are

Like other people said they can be stubborn at times. But there sweet personality makes up for it. I have an almost 1 year old Mini Dachshund, had her since she was a baby, and my 14 year old trained it. They take patience so talk to the kids and make sure they don't lose there temper with a puppy. I think the Dachshund will be fine with the kids as long as they are gentle, and don't put pressure on there long back. Sorry this is so long.
