my chihuahua will not let anyone cut her toe nails not even the vet and when she does get them cut she is sick for 3-4 days and sulks for days....can you help me please thanks marty jackson

Chi's are very vain about her feet. Chances are your chi had a nasty experience early on which caused her much pain. try soaking her feet in warm water so that her nails are softened. also try doing them a foot at a time, with much praise and treats inbetween each foot. also try wrapping her up in a towel like a baby - get someone else to assist you so that you don't break a leg or hurt your dog accidentally. If you accidentally cut into the quick and make her bleed - use CORN FLOUR to aid the clotting process.
