possible allergic reaction to his dog bowls.... Use only stainless steel bowls - NO ceramic or plastic... will take a few weeks to clear up.....

Our 11 month BM had the same issue. For him it was acne. Our vet told us to use listerine and swab the area 2 times a day for 2 weeks. It cleared up right away.

Hey we have a bullmastiff aswell and he would also get puppy acne around his mouth. I would wash his face with a cold facecloth & just put a little bit of witch hazel on a makeup removal pad and apply it to his acne (boils). We did that together in the morning I use it as a toner after washing my face and it was awsome how fast it cleared up the dogs face maybe thats why I don't have acne myself :)

also been told this is too much protien in the food make sure it is good quality food

My vet also told me that using anything besides stainless steel bowls can cause this problem...we stopped the plastic bowls and never had the problem again.
