The type of food that you purchase for your boxer wil go by the weight of the dog. I usually alway have food in the bowl for my boxers to eat. This is more difficult now that I have a boxer puppy as he will eat everything in sight. I would recommend following the weight chart on the back of the bag of food you are feeding your boxer. Enjoy....they are an awesome breed. The above A is correct, you can also check with your vet as to the food recomended, My guys are 85lbs and I feed 1 1/2 cups 6 am and the same at 5 pm. The food is left in the bowl for several minutes and if the dog walks from the food I take it up and he will get it next meal. I also give one apple a day and 1/4 cup plain yogurt 3 -4 times a week, also give 1 -2 bananas a week. Boxers love fruit and it is good for them as long as the regular dog foor is not left in the bowl You should be able to feel the dogs rib cage without too much pressure. |
