Pug Q&A

I have a ten month old toy poodle. I'm wondering why he shivers even if the air is warm outside when I take him out to go potty. Is it because he has a cold or is it something else?

He's cold, dress him up.

Your dog is not necessarily cold... "Shivering" is a typical sign of poorly bred little (toy) dogs. It usually occurs when the breeder does not abide by the "line breeding" method of inbreeding. This type of inbreeding produces healthy dogs while still selecting good qualities of the breed (for poodles that would be a square build, thick coat, smooth gait, high tail set...). It sounds like your pup might be inbred. Contact your breeder if you have any further questions.
