Rottweilers are black and tan but White markings mean genetic flaw. He is still a rottweiler but would not be able to show in any shows as the white is a disqualification. Your dog is likely still Rottweiler, but sometimes white appears. Sometimes it appears in puppies but grows out of it but Breeding white markings is not recommended as they like to keep Rottweiler strictly Black and brown or like explained above. Hope this helps :) If its a puppy then it will go back to the normal rottweiler colours soon. Yes, and I would love to know where your husband found this pup as I have been looking. What you have is the most original Roman Rott. They were used for boarding and also in the war between the Romans and Germans, then the Germans down breed them to a shorter stockier breed as to only reach the ankles of the heard for no destruction to the hind quarters of the heard. My Haley lived 15 1/2 years and I miss her so much. She was very big, like Mastiff and her temperament so gentle. Check where your dogs dew claws were removed and I'm sure you will see a longer scar than normal as they are born with double dews. Please contact me @ lch2297@gmail.com, I would love to talk to you. I hope this helped. You have a rare excellent dog. Please contact, Linda Not boarding....hearding.g. sorry, Linda |
