I found a stray 3 year old female chi. She took well to using puppy pads. I use the kind that has attractant in them. They can get expensive, but Walgreens usually has them in packs of 50, at 2/$20. It didn't take too long for my little girl to get the hang of it, especially when I praised her like mad when she used them. Now she is in the habit without a problem. Best of luck! Best of luck! the best place to buy puppy pads is THE DOLLLAR STORE---- I have bought the ones that have the "scent" to encourage them to go and have found they don't wok any better----I have also bought the spray that you put on the pad that is to attract them and have found it works for a few times then nothing---the only thing I can say is put several pads around in the area the dog wets---mine is 1 year old and I find its just hit and miss some days he will use it and some he wont----I live in a apartment and my bet buy was a carpet cleaner---I use it a lot for his mises----good luck amy Ok first off let's start by getting this out the way DON'T EVER HIT SPANK OR RUB THEIR NOSE IN IT . These things are cruel and don't even work. You have to catch them into the act. Not later they won't remember that they even did it.short memories. When you catch them ,make a loud noise like ehhh ehhh ehh... and then say no loudly also m.. I mean real loud you want to scare the pissed out of them lol then ,if it is poop you take it and the dog outside or to the pee pad, and you put it where they should've put it to begin with Then you praise them like crazy, just like they did it themselves. And another thing you have to make sure you clean it completely.. They have spray that kills thethe enzymes that keep drawing them back to the same spot .I'd get some ...you can get it anywhere walmart petco whatever. Use treats if you have to... praise is the most important part of it all . And if use treats make sure they only get it right as or after they potty and it has to be fast cuz their memories are so short. Just like you don't wanna scold them even five seconds after they potty on the floor , you gotta give them the treat immediately. |
