I have had dogs before but one was a Lab and the other was an Australian Sheperd. Will this breed do well outside?? My Dad does not like indoor animals, so until i move out the Akita will have to live outisde. Also would he/she attack chickens? Pretty any much information on this beautiful breed would be appreciated. I prefer to get information from people who actually live with them. Any information would be appreciated! Thank You!

Yes, it will attack chickens and anything small that runs (rabbits, squirrels, etc.) They cannot be left outside on their own for long periods of time as they get bored and can be destructive. We have 3 Akitas (2 females, 1 male) and they are kenneled when we are not outside with them.
