Hi. I have a 3 year old male jack russel terrier and he has been growling just when i go o pet him. He has been doing it for about 2 weeks I am terrified I when get close to him. What can I do to stop him from growling at me and my daughter?

i have a 3 year old JRT too and she started to do that a while ago too but i got her to stop by telling her no when she did it in a firm voice and pointing my finger at her. If that dosnt work i would get a cage and send him to his cage when he does that. (we also did that)
