We are considering buying a chocolate lab, but the one we are being offered has a medium sized white mark on the chest, and although the owners say it is pure bred, they dont have pedigree. Is this an indication of mix breeding which could alter temperament?

a white patch on the chest is acceptable in a pure bred lab. the original chocolates all had a white spot on their chest.

you might check your facts... the breed standard from the american kennel club even permits a small white patch on the chest
