Yorkshire Terrier Q&A

When I go to work,is my chihuahua aware of how long I am gone. I have a cat and they are good buddies.I just wonder if he is lonely as I work 12hr shifts. Does he realize i am gone for twelve hours, and is it fair to him. I work 14 out of every 28 days and have 2 weekends off and 1 week off a month, which I am with him all the time. I love him,and i know he loves me . He is 16 months old, and I have had him since he was 4 months old. I just feel guilty sometimes about leaving him to go to work. Am I giving him enough attention,or am I being selfish? I don't Know if this bothers him or will he be okay and happy living with me with this kind of arrangement?

Awe poor baby .. I wouldn't leave him alone that long of a day but it sounds like you have no choice. You don't have a neighbor your close with or anything that you could pay a minimal amount to puppy sit while you're at work? If not , maybe conside getting another slightly older dog (so you don't have to potty train another one) to keep him company. I know you say you have a cat that gets along with good but I bet it's not the same with a cat as it would be with another dog I would not find him another home because you are so attached to each other by now that would be traumatic for both of you. You're doing the best you can so don't beat yourself up over it. But I would try to find some sort of a puppy sitter or something. A stay at home mom perhaps. If your dog is good with kids . Or an older lady that could use some company herself. I dunno just some thoughts . Go's be with you both and keep you healthy happy and safe in Jesus name! I hope you figure out something.
