Cock-a-Tzu come in black and white as well as other colors. They may have the nose of the Cocker and the eyes of the Shih Tzu. They are lean like the Cocker Spaniel with the hair of a Shih Tzu. It may be very fluffy and easily tangled.
This breed is loyal and loving. They are sometimes hyper but lounge around most of the time. They get a long with other dogs and children. They prefer a lot of attention and enjoy being near their owners. They are gentle giants and hardly ever bark, but if they do you can be assured it's for good reason. The Daniff is a large lap dog.
They are prone to frequent ear infections if ears are not cleaned regularly. This is due to the deep ear canal of the Cocker Spaniel and the hair that grows in the ears of Shih-Tzus. Groomer should pluck hair from ears to prevent infections. This breed may also suffer from allergies which can be treated by your veterinarian.
Cock-a-Tzus need regular brushing or trimmed hair. They are extremely light shedders and their hair will tangle and matt without proper care. They have active tear ducts and daily cleaning may be needed to keep their eyes clean.

He is a very good dog. Very active, loves other dogs, he also loves to beg for table scraps. He is 21 lbs. His is hair is the most fustrating gets matted very easily and he has suffered from one ear infection. I try to keep him groom but sometimes I go off schedule. He does not bark a lot very little. Cody is 28lbs, extremely smart, never met a dog he didn't like, and adores children particularly toddlers.
Cody also has an incredible sense of humor that offsets his stubborn streak by a mile.
The Shitzu in him is most evident on the wooded trails especially at high spots and overlooks.
The Cocker in him comes out at the beach his favorite place to be.
He does very well as part of a pack but is exceptional in one on ones and favors larger breeds.
