Maintenance

Like most other new designer hybrids, little information is known about the history of Silky Lhasa. However, its parents have quite an ancient history. The Silky Terrier originated in Australia in the 1800s and is famous for its bravery and good hunting traits. The American Kennel Club recognized it in the year 1959. While the Lhasa originated in Tibet with a purpose of guarding the Monasteries and Temples. It is believed that the Monks developed this perfect breed by crossbreeding Tibetan Terrier and mountain wolf. The Lhasa Apsos became highly popular in America. Later, the American Kennel Club recognized it in the year 1935

Due to the long, silky, and human-like hair, Silky Lhasas are a little high on maintenance. Brush your pet\'s coat daily to prevent any tangling or matting. You may require a special dog shampoo and conditioner for maintaining the coat quality. Bath your pet quite often for a better look. Trim their nails 1-2 times a week to avoid nail splitting. Also, wipe off excess debris from the ears to prevent any skin allergies and infections. You can expect a few visits to professional pet grooming salons as per the requirement.

The Silky Lhasa is a moderately active breed with medium exercise requirement. Take your dog for short walks daily in the dog park so that they can play with other dogs. It is necessary to keep this curious and intelligent canine healthy through various physical activities. For instance, hiking, swimming, walk around the neighborhood, playing a game of fetch or running around for 45-60 minutes. Also, try to keep them busy as their boredom leads to destructive activities like chewing things or excessive barking.

Many training issues are too extensive to answer in this forum, which is why I refer a lot of the load to his site. Update: I've been using and recommending DogProblems for three years now.
