The Chizer comes in a variety of colors including brown, black, white, gray or a mixed. The ears are medium in length and are capable of standing erect. The snout is known to be long or short.
The Chizer should be socialized from birth with other dogs, animals and especially children. Training may be need to prevent nipping. This breed is known to be bold and protective of its owners. Generally playful, this breed has a hard time sitting still. Eventually this breed will tire out and be ready for a snuggle and a nap. The Chizer is ideal for single owners or families without children. Life with children isn't a problem if properly socialized and trained.
The Chizer requires a medium amount of maintenance due to its fast going hair. Brushing is required weekly in order to prevent tangles and mats. Bathing is required monthly.

He is quite active when he is awake, but loves long naps on the couch though, he tolerates kids, playful only with adults, very smart, has learned some tricks...loves to steal plastic bags for reaping and tearing of in little rags, so we have to hide them very well, good ears and barks at a very single tiny noise he hears... gives a ton of kisses too.

Pixie is very affectionate and friendly. She is always by my side which I thought was part of her assistance training (she failed), but form what I read about chizers, this is a trait of the breed. She certainly is a high energy dog who loves to be outside watching and chasing the wildlife. Squirrels and chipmunks watch out! Pixie is persistent and quick. I wanted to add my bit about Pixie because I wasn't seeing a lot of other chizers that looked like her.

Although Brandi is a Mix she has the attitude of the Chihuahua mostly.
She growls, believes she's as tough as a Pit Bull and has the typical nervous shake. She has a mind of her own and only does what she chooses which can be very difficult at times but we still LOVE her!!!
