Character

The Papichon is friendly but wary of strangers.

The Papichon is all about love. Their sole motive in life is to be with their owner whom they absolutely love being with. In fact, unlike some breeds they can get friendly with strangers as well if they are trained well from a tender age, their love for strangers arises out from the fact that they feel them to be another source for love. With all the love which they have for their owners, Papichons can suffer from separation anxiety if they are left alone a lot. The signs of anxiety often become visible as the Papichon develops a destructive behavior and also develop a habit of excessive barking

General Health

Mine is 3 years old and haven't had any health issues.

There are often arguments that the mixed genetics in hybrid dogs often reduces the health risks, these arguments however do not have any scientific proof and also come with a flipside possibility that the laws of genetics, on the one hand, can diminish as well as amplify the health issues. Below are some health problems to which the Papichon can be at risk to as their parents suffer from the same, as no exact official data is available: Major Concerns Patellar Luxation Cataracts Canine Hip Dysplasia (Chd) Bladder Stones and Infections Minor Concerns Allergies Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA)

Maintenance

Medium maintenance, brush every other day or it will matte.

The Coat of the Papichon needs to be brushed atleast twice a weeks and also requires professional clipping every three months. Papichons do not require frequent baths but while bathing one must keep in mind to use a mild dog shampoo, this prevents allergies and also helps to retain the natural skin oil. The owners need to frequently check them as the Papichon is prone to get into activities without giving it a second thought making them prone to injuries. Twice a week brushing of the teeth helps is good oral health and clipping the nails to a decent length is recommended

I've used them to help with my Great Dane as well as help friends train their dogs. It's the first place I go to help answer users Questions. Many training issues are too extensive to answer in this forum, which is why I refer a lot of the load to his site. Update: I've been using and recommending DogProblems for three years now. I, as well as my users, value the techniques we've learned. I get weekly emails from users who have become better owners from the information they received.
